Meet Kelsey, our newest Food Assistance Network Strategist
My name is Kelsey Hill (he/they), and I’m thrilled to be joining this team and to have the opportunity to help build equity and sustainability into our regional food system. I’ve lived here just long enough (Fall ‘14) I’m comfortable calling myself a Portlander, and have lived and worked all over this city. Farmers to Families Food Box update - expiration dates for meat product
Pacific Coast Fruit Company has added guidance in the hopes of a more consumer friendly explanation of the meat product you will be seeing in Farm to Families Food Boxes. A sticker has been added to the boxes with guidance on how to handle unfrozen meat.
This sticker indicates the lot code date for the box (the date the poultry was taken out of the freezer). The poultry in the box is safe to consume up to 30 days (unopened) past the lot date, or can be refrozen.
