Developing equity-focused responses to incidents of harm
The Network Equity and Racial Justice team will convene a work group to:
Clarify roles and responsibilities when responding to incidents of harm
Determine the values that will guide the process of responding to incidents of harm
Develop feedback mechanisms about how we are collectively responding to incidents of harm
Develop a process to respond to incidents of harm
Developing and piloting a tool to engage clients in sharing their perspectives.
The Client Equity Assessment Tool seeks to collaborate with community partners outside OFB's Partner Agency Network to invite a representative body of clients to complete the Client Equity Assessment Tool.
The tool will assess four key areas of a client’s experience at OFB partner pantries:
- food preferences,
- accessibility,
- client dignity, and
- incidents of harm

Create equity-focused workshops to help build the equity capacity of network members.
The goals of this project are to:
- Develop a series of four (4) trainings focused on equity and racial justice in food banking.
- Engage stakeholders in pilot sessions, generate feedback, and integrate changes to finalize workshop content.
- Deliver finalized workshops on a routine schedule.
The Community of Practice Program is a 6 month community space intended to convene up to 10 members of Regional Food Banks (RFB) and Partner Agencies (PA) to learn, unlearn and grow skills and understanding around equity practice. This space is dedicated to support participants to drive and shape local equity initiatives across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Twice a month, we will share space facilitated by the Network Equity & Racial Justice (NERJ) team with prepared workshops, lean into discussion, and offer 1:1 coaching. This practice space will provide resources, technical support, and consultation to RFB/PA network members with the goal of ensuring a competent, equity-centered workforce to promote equity initiatives throughout the network.

The goals of this project are:
- to create space for partner agencies and region food banks to practice and iterate on their equity practice.
- for participants to drive and shape the community we build together
This community of practice will provide resources, trainings, and consultation/technical support to network members.
Interviews with RFBs and OFB staff to learn about equity work.
Equity Check-ins are a way for creating connections with Network Equity and Racial Justice Team members and the Statewide Network team.
These conversations will help understand what equity conversations are already underway and what next steps might be helpful.
