We received a load of zucchini from California today. The zucchini itself is very high quality -- firm, well sized and gorgeous green color.

Due to fluctuating temps from field to packing shed to truck and summer heat in general there is some slight white surface mold that needs to be wiped off before distribution. This can be done by using a slightly damp towel and changing out the towel as needed. This surface mold is not a food safety concern and is easily wiped off with a dry or damp towel. But it will certainly affect people's desire to pick it up at distribution sites.

I've included pictures to serve as examples. The first two pictures are examples of what mold that can be wiped off and distributed looks like, while the last picture is showing zucchini beyond repair.
