Inclement Weather Reminders
T'is the season for winter weather! As we prep for the possibility of ice or snow on a given day, here are a few reminders when it comes to your OFB order:
- If you are closing due to weather, please email EmergencyResponse@ oregonfoodbank.org with that information so Food Finder can be updated. (Pre-emptive closure decisions made with 24 hours notice can be sent to to your Strategist directly - we will update Food Finder. EmergencyResponse is really for last-minute/same day closures & cancellations.)
- If you want to cancel your (already submitted) order for pickup or delivery due to weather, please email EmergencyResponse@ oregonfoodbank.org
- If/when Oregon Food Bank chooses to not deliver orders or have orders available for pickup, Operations will work with our team to notify the affected agencies.
- In general, all orders (pickups and deliveries) from a specific warehouse will be impacted in the same way. Example: ALL orders out of Metro will be cancelled or NO orders out of Metro will be canceled. Only in rare circumstances would Operations choose to deliver to some sites from a Warehouse.
OFB does not follow school district closures. Our Weather Team will make the call as soon as possible each day.
**Each agency is encouraged to make your own decisions around whether you are open during inclement weather based on what's safest for your staff, volunteers and clients. We do not expect you to be open if it is unsafe for you to do so!**
