The Network Equity Learning & Capacity Development Training (NEL&CD) is for people from all backgrounds who want to learn about equity principles and how to apply them. This multi-day training includes 35 hours of live online lessons and 5 hours of preparation between sessions (about 1 hour or less). The training focuses on using equity principles to help end hunger and achieve food justice. It’s also useful for anyone wanting to promote fairness in their communities and organizations. At the end of the training, participants can ask for individual follow-up support/consultation and will be invited to 3 one-hour cohort sessions. Each session provides an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges and successes, exchange resources, connect with others to build relationships and strengthen justice work across the country. - Grounding with common language, frameworks and protocols;
- Examine how different social identities like race, gender, class and sexuality intertwine to create unique experiences of privilege and oppression;
- Systems Change and Root Cause Work by identifying systemic issues and their connection to root causes of hunger;
- How to authentically engage and partner with neighbors;
- How to improve outcome and well-being measures to support our collective work and address food insecurity.

- Will I make this program a priority, and can I attend all session dates in their entirety?
- Do I have any conflicting work projects or events (such as conferences or campaigns) that will prevent me from fully engaging and attending these sessions?
- Do I have any conflicting personal commitments (family events, vacations, weddings, graduations) that would prevent me from being present mentally, emotionally, and physically?
- Will my supervisor and team at work support my participation and cover for me so I can be present and engaged during the session period?
- Will I make this program a priority, and can I attend all session dates in their entirety?

These sessions are limited to 125 participants, and we aim to ensure that all attendees can fully commit and engage during these valuable, free sessions.
