What We Do
The Network Equity & Racial Justice (NERJ) Team can partner with you in advancing your equity and racial justice work. By working closely with food distribution partners, communities, and program participants, our team develops and supports the implementation of strategies that reduce racist, misogynist and cis-sexist practices within the food banking system. Collaboration with us helps address incidents of harm by bridging western and non-western approaches – this is inclusive to uplifting leadership from Black, Indigenous and other People of Color (BIPOC), Transgender and Gender Nonconforming and Immigrant communities. Together, we develop culturally responsive strategies and tools to prevent future incidents of harm, support community-informed spaces, and help facilitate opportunities for learning and transformation.
The NERJ Team’s primary responsibility is to respond to complaints that are not compliance issues and developing client-centered solutions.
Some of Our Services Include:
- Developing and leading equity and racial justice trainings
- Creating and sharing resources and tools centering equity and racial justice
- Providing technical assistance and consultation to partners seeking to improve equity and racial justice in their programs.
