Effective immediately, face covering are now required at both indoor distributions and any outdoor distribution where distancing cannot be maintained.
Effective July 15, by the order of Governor Brown, staff, volunteers and clients at any outdoor food distribution where a minimum of six feet of distance cannot be maintained, or at any indoor food distribution, are required to wear masks, face shields, or other face coverings. As a person responsible for an indoor or outdoor public space, you are required to implement this policy.
If a client claims that their disability prevents them from wearing a mask, face shield, or face covering, you will need to work with them to seek a reasonable modification to access food (e.g. contactless pick-up, delivery). However, a reasonable modification does not include simply allowing them inside, or within 6 feet of others at an outdoor distribution, without a mask, face shield, or face covering. Please see the OHA Reopening Guidance FAQs for more information.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to the OFB Compliance team if you have any questions about these new regulations.
