---------------------------------------------------------------
Good afternoon,
It was recently discovered that Conagra had manufactured Chef Boyardee® canned pasta that may have been mislabeled. Per the attachment, shortly after shipping the product, Conagra determined that a small amount of the product labeled as Chef Boyardee® Spaghetti & Meatballs instead contained Chef Boyardee® Mini Ravioli® Beef Ravioli product inside the can. There is nothing wrong with either of the products, and both are safe to eat. There is no health risk associated with the labeling error or risk of unidentified allergens. Walmart has identified that stores in your service area may have received this product, which is why you are receiving this email.
David and Wayne from our Food Safety team have been involved and verified that it’s not a health or allergen risk, allergens in both products are identical, and the ingredients are very close. They asked Conagra to provide a document that the food banks could distribute the suspected product to the feeding programs/agencies. The agencies could distribute it to the participants in their food pantries, feeding programs, etc. The Conagra document is attached on their letterhead.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Kitty or me. If we don’t know the answer, we will contact those who can assist and get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Chad & Kitty
