We're often asked the value of donated food per pound, and OFB's calculation is detailed below; for fiscal year 27 (Jul 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) it will be $1.37/lb.

Feeding America undergoes their own process to assign values to different types of food products, which they pass onto us. Then OFB does some additional calculations to create a donated product value that is more specific to us (details about this process are included in the Donated Inventory Valuation Summary documents linked below).

In accordance with the Finance Committee policy, Oregon Food Bank evaluates receipts net of adjustments by Feeding America category using a two-year average with the most current Feeding America values. Because OFB is committed to achieving the most accurate representation and accounting of the food we receive, process and distribute in alignment with GAAP and FASB ASC 958-605. To accomplish this goal, we believe it is imperative to adjust Feeding America's valuation to be specific to this practice.
