Grant Writing Series for Foundation Proposals
The Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) is 'the statewide nonprofit membership organization representing and supporting charitable nonprofits of all sizes, geographic locations and missions across Oregon'. NAO is offering a weekly four-part grant writing series for finding and applying for foundation grants, Tuesday August 5th - Tuesday, August 26th, 10:00-11:30am.
What Is a Foundation?
A foundation is a type of organization that is created and funded by an individual, family, or corporation. Funds donated from the founders are invested, with proceeds going to the charitable interest of the founders. Some foundations also offer grants to individuals or organizations (including non-profits) working on specific projects. Examples include the Roundhouse Foundation, an Oregon-based foundation offering grants to rural agencies, which you can read more about in our post. Other well-known local Oregonian foundations include the OHSU Foundation, the Oregon Community Foundation, the Legacy Health Foundation, and many more.
The Training
This series serves as introduction to foundation grant proposal writing, especially geared towards those nonprofits and organizations new to grant writing, and small and rural agencies, and will cover grant readiness, grant research, proposal writing, and grant management. This includes developing funding priorities, an organized grant system, grant research platforms, tailoring proposal narratives, and tracking outcomes.
Agencies will gain tools and strategies to bring back and implement in their teams and organizations, and can register here.
