Session Description:
Often equity work is seen as something we do “out there” or “with community.” In this session, we ground our equity work in a shared vocabulary and our own stories and identities. We will learn terms and their meanings that are common in equity work. We will also practice vulnerability in our storytelling and how our stories may influence service delivery.
HISTORY OF FOOD BANKING REGISTER HERE

Session Description:
In this reflective session, we will travel back to the origin story of western food banking and notice how those beginnings shaped how we perceive food banking today. Along our journey, we will also revisit ways in which food sharing and harvest has been a cultural practice in many communities. Together, we will listen for patterns and look ahead towards future generations.
ROOT CAUSES OF HUNGER REGISTER HERE

Session Description:
In order to eliminate hunger and food insecurity for good, we need to understand the root causes. However the hunger story we’ve been told isn’t always accurate. We will bust myths about hunger by learning the realities and facts. We will also increase our understanding of the root causes of hunger and food insecurity.
