This 4 hour training introduces the basics of food justice and food sovereignty by looking at them through a decolonial lens. You will learn from real-life examples and be encouraged to build community power in addressing hunger and its root causes. The session highlights the importance of following Indigenous knowledge and leadership to heal and guide our actions.
CURRICULUM UPDATE: As of February 2026 we’ve added a timeline to our curriculum with the history of our migrant and immigrant communities and the laws, policies, and practices that have shaped our current realities.
This session will support participants in making the connections to systems and structures within the contexts of the so-called United States to food justice and food sovereignty. We hope that you consider joining our team for the first time or for a refresher.
