ERJET (Regional) Root Cause Networking Hour

Session Topic: Land-Based Education Session — Cultural Connection & Community Fishing Experience
Join us for a unique community-centered learning experience rooted in cultural traditions, environmental awareness, and healing through connection to land and water. This session will begin with a cultural prayer and flute performance, followed by storytelling and discussion around Indigenous worldview, customs, and traditions.
Participants will also learn about the impacts of dams and AI data centers on fishing and local ecosystems, while exploring the importance of cultural fishing and camping traditions as sources of healing and community wellness. Fishing demonstrations and casting instruction will be available for those interested, and participants are welcome to take part in the fishing experience.
Location: Mt. Hood Community College (26000 SE Stark St, Gresham, OR, 97030)
Please note: Anyone planning to fish will need to obtain a one-day fishing license prior to the event.
Audience: Internal OFB Staff, local/regional food banks, partners, volunteers, organization, and community members within Oregon and SW Washington.
